Nintendo Wii - Contributed
Talk about having fun!. well you need to get yourself a Wii. Yes, you heard me right, the Nintendo Wii, pronounced (Wee), is now available for purchase.
Wii is an exciting new video console from Nintendo, the same company that brought you the most popular game - Mario Brothers on the Nintendo.
While in Miami I had the opportunity to hook myself up on the Wii, and let me tell you something - it was pure fun.
Inside your Wii package, you will find the Wii console, a wireless controller with nunchuk adapter, the sensor bar, a cradle (for mounting the console vertically), the Wii's modestly sized power adapter, and a set of composite A/V cables.
The Wii console itself is very small, maybe the smallest game console I have ever seen. The size is around 1.75 inches high by 6.25 inches wide by 8.5 inches deep (when oriented horizontally). The Wii can lie horizontally or stand up vertically (either by itself or, for added stability, in the included plastic cradle).
The Wii includes 512MB of internal memory for storing saved games, downloaded Virtual Console titles, and other data. If that half-gigabyte of onboard storage isn't enough for you, the system has a standard Secure Digital (SD) card slot for additional storage. SD cards are cheap and plentiful, and the Wii's support of them is a refreshing change of pace from the proprietary memory cards used by older game consoles.
Here are some other keep features of the Wii:
Plays two disc formats in a single, self-loading media bay.
Features a processing chip from IBM and a graphics chip from ATI.
Backwards compatible with all Nintendo GameCube games and most peripherals.
Built-in Wi-Fi access for easy connection to Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection gaming service.
The Nintendo Wii will be available with several hot game titles, one being The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. The Zelda game is the hottest and fastest game on the Nintendo Wii with a price tag of US$50.
The biggest seller for me on the Nintendo Wii is the new revolutionised wireless remote control. I was totally blown away by this controller, it really changed my gaming experience forever. The Nintendo Wii retails for around US$249.
