Man shot at bus driver in hold-up

A bus driver and his passengers were lucky to escape with their lives after gunmen attacked and robbed them en route to Half-Way Tree from Portmore.

Reports are that at about 7:40 on Tuesday night, two men posing as passengers boarded the bus in Portmore. The bus was travelling along Hagley Park Road heading towards Half-Way Tree when, on reaching the intersection of Aldington Avenue and Ambrook Lane, one man pulled a knife and robbed the conductress of $7,000 and a cellular phone valued at $5,000.

After robbing the conductress and as they were about to leave the bus, the other man fired once at the driver. He was unhurt. The dashboard and windshield of the bus, however, were damaged and the men escaped.

The Half-Way Tree CIB is investigating.
