Police Commissioner Lucius Thomas (left) and head of Operation Kingfish, Assistant Commissioner Glenmore Hinds. -
Norman Grindley
THE EDITOR, Sir:
Please allow me space in THE STAR to laud the operations of Kingfish.
When this other crime fighting strategy of the Jamaica Consta-bulary Force (JCF) was conceptualised and announced, many of us were ignorant of its intention.
The superstitious minds were under the impression that the small fish in the ocean would
suffer the consequences for the big fish.
But today, Kingfish operations are indicative that they are all in the same boat.
The wrong doers whether great or small, will be pursued relentlessly and brought to justice.
I must also commend the head of operation Kingfish, Assistant Commissioner of Police Glenmore Hinds and his team for doing a fantastic job.
From reports on their performances, it is obvious that the intelligence bureau is getting the necessary information needed from
citizens.
It was also noted that they (the police) welcomed the passage of the proceeds of crime bill in the senate quite recently. They further stated that this piece of legislation will aid in carrying out their
commitment in targeting the major organised criminal networks.
I am convinced that with the full support of citizens, Kingfish and the policemen and women under the capable leadership of Commissioner Lucius Thomas, the current crime situation will reduce considerably.
I am, etc.,
