Iran's nuclear programme and the Bible

Dear Editor, Sir:

Please allow me a little space in your daily newspaper to share my views on the topic of Iran and its nuclear programme. In my view, Iran's programme is a like a train without brakes.

You see, most people read about countries in the Bible but can't tell what they are today.

Iran was the country which the bible called Persia, as in the alliance called Medes and Persians. The Medes and Persians were once a super power which defeated the Babylonian Empire in 539 BC under Cyrus until the Greeks took over from them. Also, in the 1980s, they were at war again with the same Babylon which now has the name Iraq, whose leader was Saddam Hussein.

History will be repeated. The Bible tells us that God Almighty will stir up the spirit of the Medes and Persians against the mighty end-of-time Babylonians, which is the United States of America, (Isaiah 13: 17-18). The Bible said "their bows he will break apart (meaning missiles, therefore they will go nuclear having rejected the offer by the six nations of the United Nations' Security Council), neither will they regard silver nor gold".

Again, in Jeremiah chapter 51: 11, we see Iran's nuclear programme being mentioned. Include the United States Department of Homeland Security (the watchman) in verse 12, which means everywhere in the United States you will be watched and then go to verse 28 where the Bible says that Iran again will call on his friend from the region (North Korea) and you will see prophecy being fulfilled.

As we can see then, Iran is indeed a train without a brake.

I am, etc.,

Harold Arthurs
