A police Constable made a lucky catch on Monday when he caught a ball hit by Dwayne Bravo for six during the match against Zimbabwe.
The officer who was on duty at the stand turned around in time to see the ball flying towards him. "I heard the uproar and turned around and just caught the ball," Cons. Carlos Curtis told THE STAR.
The officer, who was stationed before the Party Mound inside Sabina Park, only started attending cricket matches at the venue when he joined the police force two years ago.
Luckily, he has been assigned to work at all the cricket matches played at the venue during his short time so far in the force, and will be there for the duration of the tournament.
After his remarkable catch commentators widely discussed it and the moment was replayed several times on television.
The officer was expecting long hours at the matches when he was first assigned to work during the tournament but said he has been enjoying it in between executing his duties.
He said he will catch another if the chance if it comes. "If I see it coming my way, I will definitely catch it," he said.
He is also looking forward to seeing a successful and exciting tournament.
