St. Elizabeth:
Batsman Nickoy Samuels scored an unbeaten 95 to position St. Elizabeth Technical High School (STETHS) for the first day honours in the ISSA/Grace Headley Cup semi-finals against Garvey Maceo at Alpart yesterday.
STETHS resumed this morning in the healthy position of 218 for 7. In-form player Christopher Dyer was aggressive in scoring 59. The anchor was provided by Samuels, who has represented Jamaica at both Under-15 and Under-19 levels and will likely push for his first century of the season, hoping for good lower-order support led by fast bowler Jason Dawes.
As was the case when the first match was attempted at Kirkvine last week before a combination of rain and late preparation halted the game, Garvey Maceo won the toss and asked STETHS to bat first.
