The fall of Captain America

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I came across an article by the Associated Press (AP), printed in The Gleaner dated 9-3-07 titled Captain America dies marvelous death.

The marvel comic hero, killed by an assassin's bullet in the latest issue of the comic book. However, many marvel comic fans of the 70s era never knew the true origins of Captain America.

According to the article the hero was created in 1941 by Joe Simon and Jack Kirby as a foe of Adolf Hitler.

The editor-in-chief of Marvel should have waited until the motion picture version comes out first before killing Captain America in print.

I am, etc.,
