Promoter Keisha Wallen says she intends to take out a summons on Kiprich, as he was billed to perform at her event but did not show.
Wallen also said that Kiprich was given a down payment which he has not returned and now she is seeking repayment.
It was a dance that we had put on, but it wasn't like no big name show or anything like that. It was held on July 30, 2005, in Buff Bay, Portland. Kiprich and Black-Er were supposed to perform at the show, but none of them turned up," Wallen explained.
getting the run around
Wallen says, "both Kiprich and Black-Er received down payments, but with Black-Er, it was a verbal agreement, while Kiprich signed a written contract."
Since Kiprich's no-show, Wallen says she has been hounding him and his manager to return her money, but she has been getting the run around.
"At first, Kiprich was saying that I should keep a next show, but I told him I wouldn't have the money to keep a next show and then he decided that he would pay me back in two halves, $30,000 first and then the other $30,000," Wallen said.
different date
She also said: "Since then, I have been calling them and every time they give me a different date; is just bare run around until now. I even took out a summons on them, but I went away so it was not served, but I plan to take out another summons because it's been almost two years now."
However, when contacted, Kiprich says he had nothing to do with the promoter and that all transactions were done through his management.
"Yuh know seh ar show mussy rain out, a she call Breddi (Kiprich's manager) an tell him seh wi nuh fi bodda come. Mi nuh know if she run inna problem an a look back ar ting, but wi tell ar fi line up back a nex show cause di deposit done deh deh. Wi not even charge ar di right money. Mi don't even know ar, she book show through Breddi an pay him deposit, suh I don't know wah she a come gwaan like she waan hype up pon man," Kiprich argued.
wash out
Breddi sang a similar tune to Kippo's as he explained it was not a case of 'no-show'.
"Di girl show wash out an she tell wi seh not even five people inna di venue, suh wi tell ar fi put on back a next show. She lef an guh a foreign fi di longest while. Now she been calling me an a seh she cyan keep nuh show an want back ar money, but to how di business set up, wi would haffi organise dat. She woulda haffi gi wi some time, a she a tek it to di nex level," Breddi said.
Adding, "But me nuh have a problem fi gi ar back ar deposit, but normally when yuh a keep show yuh haffi book back a nex date fi guh talk bout deposit."
