Eager fans of Mr. Vegas, although disappointed, had no choice but to be understanding when they heard the announcement that he would not be performing at the Mountain Dew Stunt Festival held on Easter Monday at the Jamalco Sports club in Clarendon.
According to Vegas' Publicist, Ray Alexander, "the doctor has ordered him to rest."
In a release that was subsequently sent, it further explained that it was a heart condition that has caused Vegas to miss out on the show.
'After complaints of excruciating chest pains, Mr. Vegas was last week ordered strict bed rest for two to three weeks by his physician or face long-term complications. Due to this untimely illness, the Singjay had no choice but to cancel booked shows in Belize, Jamaica and St. Croix.'
Vegas' publicist also explained that, "this is the first time the Singjay has missed shows that he has been booked for and apologises to his fans and promoters for any inconveniences caused."
Mr. Vegas recently performed in Trinidad and the Cayman Islands to sold-out venues.
Efforts to reach Vegas for comments were unsuccessful as his phone rang without an answer.
