THE EDITOR, Sir:
Many things are taken lightly in this country, and the lead story in the Weekend Star entitled 'More demons in schools'? is one which I believe will be treated in a similar manner. For some this is purely superstition and nonsense, but as one who has experienced these manifestation of demons even when I was not a Christian, I certify to you all it must not be taken lightly. This world is influenced by spirits not visible to the naked eye whether we believe it or not. For many people, instead of the Spirit of Jesus Christ influencing their lives, it's the evil spirits of this world.
Many throw the Bible, which gives us clear details of the spiritual warfare that goes on in this world, through the window for one reason or another. This to their own detriment. Pastor Stewart rightly gave some the ways in which persons can be demon-possessed.
For those who exercise themselves in these ungodly pleasures may or may not be aware of how much they are endangering themselves in these so call pleasures. Witchcraft, depression of broken homes, myalism, and sexual immorality or perversion of all sorts are some of the practices that lure persons into demon-possession. Let me also point out that even worldly music can cause demon-possession. How? Ask yourself where the inspiration of some of this music comes from.
I watch as my fellow young people are overly involved in sexual perversion. Sadly, those who survive live to regret these unscrupulous practices.
Today the practice of homosexuality seems to be on the rise among young men and women. More often now there are cases of adults deceiving young boys into same-sex lifestyle. It is even worst as these monsters command these minors to go and recruit their peers.
This needs to stop as it clear that our society is not getting any better. "Righteousness exalts a nation but sin is a reproach to any people" (Prov. 13:34).
I call firstly to parents, that they'll be parents indeed, and be more vigilant to the lives and welfare of their children. Secondly, I appeal to school authorities not to turn a blind eye on this important matter, surely as ministers of the gospel we have to encounter these sad ordeals, as we do know what we are putting forward.
Many of these students cry themselves to sleep at nights without their parents knowing their trauma and we are the ones they come to. It's sad that Rev. D. Dick has not experienced the attack of evil spirit, he must be one of the lucky ones. But God has given us His Spirit to conquer these attacks so we'll not be ignorant to the enemy.
Help our children before they destroy themselves, and please stop wicked men and women from hurting them. Together, let us fight the forces of darkness.
I am, etc.,
