Cops probe double murder

Two men, including a conductor employed to the Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC), were shot dead in St. Catherine on Sunday night.

The St. Catherine South Division is currently investigating the death of a man who was killed on Collins Avenue in Windsor Heights, Central Village. The dead man is still unidentified.

The deceased is about 25 years old, of dark complexion and medium build. He was wearing a red shirt, blue jeans and white sneakers. Reports are that at about 8:30 p.m., residents heard explosions and called the police. They arrived to find the body with gunshot wounds lying in the road.

In the other case, the Spanish Town CIB is investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of the 32-year-old JUTC conductor. The conductor, Howhyte Campbell, otherwise called "Fishy" of Worchester Road, was shot dead by a gunman at Worchester Road, Horizon Park in St.Catherine. A 25-year-old woman and a 31-year-old man were also injured.

Reports are that at about 10:45 p.m., Campbell and the others were at a residence at Worchester Road watching television when a gunman entered the premises. The armed intruder immediately opened fire hitting them. The police were called and the injured persons were taken to the hospital where Campbell was pronounced dead and the others were treated.
