Weed ties two

A Jamaican and Canadian were arrested after being held with drugs in separate incidents at the Norman Manley International Airport on Saturday.

Warren Green, 26, of York Town, Clarendon, and Tyveto Edwards, 29, of Ontario, Canada, have been charged with possession of, dealing in and taking steps to export ganja.

According to police reports, at 2:15 p.m., Green checked in to board a flight to Panama. During a routine search of his luggage, ganja weighing approximately 1.1 kg (2.2 lbs) was found.

Later, at 5:15 p.m., Edwards checked in to board a flight to London. During a search of pieces of his luggage, ganja weighing about 55 kg (120 lbs) was found.

Both men were subsequently charged and are to appear in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court tomorrow The Narcotics police continue to investigate.
