Canada and Costa Rica go in search of their second win this afternoon at 5:00 p.m. in the CONCACAF U-17 World Cup qualifiers, while U.S.A. bow into action against Trinidad and Tobago at 7:00 p.m. at the National Stadium.
Canada beat Jamaica 3-0 and Costa Rica got past Trinidad 2-0 in the opening games on Saturday to become the early favourites to qualify for the U-17 World Cup in August and September in South Korea. Three of the five teams advance to the World Cup along with Haiti and Honduras.
Both Canada and Costa Rica are multiple qualifiers to the world tournament and will approach the game knowing the importance a win will have on them securing another qualification.
Both teams are blessed with players much bigger than the average 17-year-old and the game could be decided by who uses more brain than brawn.
Trinidad will be trying desperately to avoid a second straight defeat, but will be put to the sword against a perennially strong U.S.A. team.
