Nineteen-year-old cocaine user granted bail

By Tashieka Mair, Star Writer

WESTERN BUREAU

A teenager who admitted to being a drug user was granted bail on Wednesday when he appeared before the Montego Bay Resident Magistrate's Court to answer to cocaine charges.

Nineteen-year-old duco man, Damane Rowe of Johns Hall in St. James, pleaded guilty to possession of and dealing in cocaine and was granted bail with surety in the sum of $50,000.

Rowe was arrested on April 19, after 13 sticks of cocaine were found on his person. He told RM Winsome Henry that he has been using cocaine for the past year.

RM Henry requested a probation report before his sentencing on May 31.

The facts are that on April 19, a policeman saw him walking along a road in Johns Hall. He was searched and a 'Crazy Glue' container with 13 pieces of cocaine was found in his underpants.
