A love triangle has landed a woman before the Montego Bay Resident Magistrate's Court, while another is nursing a wound to the right eye.
Charged with unlawful wounding stemming from an incident is Dawnett Palmer of Flankers, St. James.
She was charged after the complainant alleged that Palmer used an object to poke her in the right eye while in a taxi. The complainant is said to have had a relationship with the father of Palmer's child.
The complainant alleges that on May 9, she was in a taxi which was travelling at a slow pace in Flankers, when she saw the accused woman standing on the road.
Old toilet seat
Palmer allegedly referred to the complainant as "an old toilet seat", and asked why she was looking at her. The complainant allegedly in turn referred to Palmer in like
manner.
The court heard that Palmer ran after the taxi then shoved her hand into the car and used an object to inflict a wound to the complainant's right eye.
The accused allegedly told the police that it was her fingernails that caused the complainant's injury.
Palmer, who is represented by Charles Sinclair, had her station bail extended until June 13, with a warning to stay away from the complainant.
Sinclair suggested that the women be sent to mediation to settle their differences. But on seeing the state of the complainant's wound, RM Winsome Henry said she would prefer to await the medical report to ascertain the seriousness of the injury before making any decisions.
