Mother's Day was special for several of Portmore mothers, as at least two business persons tried to make it a special occasion.
At Prendy's on the Beach in Hellshire, hundreds of mothers turned out to be treated to a Mother's Day special meal and each was given a rose to top off the days activities. They were also duly entertained by a live performance by a cabaret singer.
At Ken's Wildflower George Nooks was on hand to take the ladies 'through the years' with songs. It was a great occasion from several mothers who spoke with THE PORTMORE STAR and claim that they did enjoy the special occasion.
Some even express the view that there should be more than one Mother's Day per year.
According to Lester Crooks of Ken's Wildflower, the night's activities was to show the appreciation of Ken's development in Portmore and also to respect the ladies who helped to nurture the growth of the business. He said the Mother's Day function has become an annual event at the club, and this is expected to continue for many years.
