Portmore teams, Meadowvale and The Dip, found themselves on the receiving end in the fourth round of the Wray & Nephew skittles competition last Sunday.
At Gregory Park, Mystix (formerly Track Price Plus) came from behind to pip home team The Dip 6-5 after both teams were locked at 5-5 going into the 11th and final game. In the deciding game, Oral Goodall defeated Trevor Bailey 0590-0320 to ensure a win for Mystix. At Chelsea Jerk Centre, New Kingston, home team Rowe's Strikers beat Meadowvale 6-3.
Meanwhile, Cherry's Strikers maintained their unbeaten record last Sunday when they clipped defending champions Eastern All-Stars 6-5, at Bejon's Sports Bar, Hughenden Plaza.
With both teams locked at 5-5 going into the 11th and final game, former singles champion Robert McKen defeated his female opponent Carmel Clarke 2200-0800 to seal the issue.
Cherry's Strikers duly made it four in a row, while Eastern were losing their third consecutive match, a streak unworthy of champions.
Meanwhile, Cherry's Dane Jones and his teammate Rudolph 'Niah' Mullings are the last two unbeaten players in the JET-sponsored open singles tourney.
Tomorrow's matches in the Wray & Nephew competition are as follows: The Dip vs Eastern All-Stars at Gregory Park, Mystix vs Galaxy at 78 3/4 Hagley Park Road, Waltham vs Meadowvale at Waltham and House of Peace vs Dragon at Berwick Road.
