Cumberland, Independence City booted out of semi-finals

It was a sad day for Portmore football this week.

Two of the Sunshine City teams crashed out of their competition at the semi-finals stages on Thursday.

Portmore-based Cumberland Football Club crashed out of the Candon Enterprise St. Catherine Division One League, when they were eliminated 4-3 on penalties in the second leg semi-final at the Prison Oval.

Both teams were locked at 1-1 from the first leg. The second did not break the deadlock, and penalties decided the winner.

Then Independence City FC were booted from the Juiciful-sponsored St. Catherine Major League going down 3-1 on aggregate to D.B. Basovak after a 0-0 second leg scoreline.
