Players from Portmore and the Corporate Area are expected to contest the season's third pool tournament today and tomorrow at Hot Shots Sports Bar, Consumer Plaza, 103 Constant Spring Road, starting at 2:00 p.m. both days.
The island's top ranked player, Portmore's own, Sunil 'Termite' Kissendal, is expected to be among the big names vying for lucrative prize money.
This will be a handicap open eight-ball tournament with players from all classes eligible. It promises to be the biggest so far this season.
The winner will receive $30,000 and championship trophy, second $10,000 and a trophy with third securing $5,000. There will be a gift basket for the best female player.
Entry fee is $1,300; re-entry $1,000. Registration begins at noon today.
The semi-finals and final will be played tomorrow starting at 6:00 p.m. With the handicap system in place for this tournament, players ranked in 'A' class must win four games when meeting 'B' class players, who are required to win three in best of seven matches.
In addition to Kissendal, other top players expected to compete include Roy Letts, Ewart Hall, Albert Chung, Calhoun Melville, Joe McLeod, Brian Gold and Bobby Charlton, who recently won the 'B' class tournament.
