Taxi driver shot dead in Falmouth

Two men were shot, one fatally, by gunmen at Newton Street, Falmouth, Trelawny, on Tuesday night.

Dead is taxi driver Waldron Duncan, 44, of Hague, Trelawny, while injured is an 18-year-old man.

Police say about 7:50 p.m., Duncan dropped off a passenger on Newton Street. A man who was being chased by three gunmen then jumped into Duncan's car. The gunmen immediately opened fire on the vehicle.

It was subsequently discovered that Duncan and the 18-year-old man had been hit. Duncan died on the spot. The other man was admitted to hospital.

The police were called and the crime scene processed by the Falmouth CIB.
