The Editor Sir,
Some queer movie which got nominated for an Oscar was shown in Jamaica and it has seemingly stirred funny bones. A whole lot of closets have been opened and gay right groups are getting too close for comfort.
According to your news source, they marched into some western newspaper publishing plant and demanded a retraction of some story or else threatened to disclose big shot names.
Personally, although I believe gays are 'a dementia', I'll maintain a law-abiding stance and oblige them a voice via Jamaica Forum for Lesbians All-sexuals and Gays (J-FLAG). But as a God-blessed nation we can't endorse a religion for them.
Schools and churches are the key to development, and evidently there are mental challenges retarding the mind of a man who would look at another man and see something which makes him sexually excited. To allow him in these institutions is to accredit him with the attributes of a human being. Gays must not be given representation or leadership roles in any of our nurturing institutions.
If you appoint a gay person to be a bishop, isn't it logical to assume that his physical attraction to males will be the focus of his inclination rather than the perspective God ordains?
Appointing openly gay ministers to any true Christian church must be a blatant 'dis', but it has an element of unfairness directed to genuine people who believe in God's grace and wish to find wholesomeness.
I am, etc.,
