Waterford pound Hamilton Gardens

Defending champions Wa-terford Cricket Club whip Hamilton Gardens by 93 runs as the Milo Portmore U-15 Cricket League bowl off at the Waterford High School last Sunday.

Waterford batted first and compiled a challenging 213-8 off their allotted 35 overs, with Ramone Morrison top scoring with 54 runs and Nickoy Lindo making 42.

Kimani Morgan took 3-8 off 4 overs for Hamilton Gardens.

Hamilton Gardens in reply could only muster 120 all out in 25.4 overs as only Memtrec McDonald, 32, showed any real resistance against the bowling of Mickel Francis 5-18, and Nickoy Lindo 2-10. the competition continues tomorrow with a full slate of matches.

Meanwhile, Colin Fagan, Deputy Mayor, officially opened the tournament by bowling the first ball. Also in attendance was president of the Portmore Metropolitan Cricket League, Charles Simpson, and Sharon Hay-Webster, Member of Parliament for South Central St. Catherine.
