A woman who testified that she only bit off another woman's breast in self-defence will know her fate on July 5.
The woman, Jacqueline Love, who appeared in the Spanish Town RM Court, on Wednesday, gave an unsworn testimony from the dock, that on August 19, 2004, she was at the business place at Passagefort, Portmore, when she was attacked by the complainant.
"I used to be friendly with her and after I started to talk with her common-law husband she stop talking to me," said Love.
She went on to state that it was after she came under attack from the complainant who accused her of being too close to her man, that she defended herself.
The Crown, however, stated that the night in question, Love attacked the complainant. The court heard that during the attack, Love ripped the complainants clothes and pursued her after she ran from the building.
"Your honour she was enraged by the complainant's presence, and ran and held her and bit her twice on her breast severing the left nipple," the clerk noted.
In closing, her summation, the clerk told the court that the account of the complainant was factual and that RM Lorna Errar Gayle should find the business woman guilty.
Then, defence attorney, Lancelot Clarke Jr., told the court of what he cited as major discrepancies in the Crown's case.
