Dear Pastor,
I live in America and I have a friend who has a girlfriend with whom he is madly in love. He will do anything for her. He will give her his last. He will even get in fights with his family members over her. If someone says anything about her, he wants to fight them. But despite that, they are always fighting each other because he doesn't trust her. One day when they were fighting, he pulled a gun at her and said he would kill her. He even put the gun to his head and told her that he would use it to kill himself if she leaves him. I know that he loves her and she loves him very much.
I don't want to be the friend who breaks up a happy home. So, pastor, what must I tell them?
J. M., Massachusetts, U.S.A.
Dear J. M.,
Any person who threatens to kill another needs professional help and that person should not carry a gun. The relationship that you have written about is not healthy, and this couple should end the relationship with each other because a
disaster is imminent.
