Teams seek points in U-15 football league

Teams hunt valuable points in the final preliminary round matches in the Senator Arthur Williams Portmore U-15 Football League today.

Six matches are on in the competition, with the Hamilton Gardens, Wanderers Zone B clash at the Naggo Head playing field at 1:30 p.m., the key game of the round.

Hamilton Gardens (12 points) are second in group A, behind semi-finalist Naggo Head (13 points), and need only a draw to advance, while Wanderers (10 points) must win to go further in the competition.

Another important game pit Zone A second-place team Daytona (12 points) against out-of-contention Dunbeholden in a 3:30 p.m. encounter at the Greater Portmore playing field.

A win will surely send Daytona through, but a draw will open the door for third-place Rodwood (13 points), who has an easy game against Caymanas Gardens in a 3:30 p.m. match at Westchester.

However, in that case Rodwood will need to score seven clear goals to have a chance.

In other games, already qualified Cumberland (16 points) battle Westchester at the Westchester playing field at 1:30 p.m., and Greater Portmore take on Passagefort FC at home, while semi-finalist Naggo Head play Cedar Grove in a home game at the Naggo Head playing field.
