I met this guy whom I like a lot. My problem is he has a baby mother who is in the picture. She lives in another state, but he talks about her all the time as if they are still together. He claims he loves me, but shows no sign of real commitment. He makes plans with me and always cancels at the last minute. All he wants to do is go to clubs and be in the limelight. I don't go to clubs.

Am I wasting my time?

You are indeed wasting your time. You should leave this man and his baby mother. You knew from the very start that he has a woman in his life. It is you who put yourself in the picture. The other woman was always there. So take yourself out immediately.

You haven't said enough for me to intelligently comment on your letter. However, if your boyfriend is not treating you right and you love him, you should try to ascertain from him what the problem is. If he respects you, he will tell you. If he ignores you, then you should know that you are wasting your time, hanging on to a straw or running after bubbles that will burst.
