Accused killer still on the run

By Byron McDaniel, STAR Writer

Walderston

The man who has been accused of killing 23-year-old, Mark Taylor in Mandeville on Wednesday is still on the run following the incident.

The accused man is said to be known by the police to be a food vendor.

It has not been ascertained if the murder was politically motivated, as there are claims that the deceased owed the accused $8,000 for food.

Both political candidates for the constituency, Sally Porteous of the Jamaica Labour Party and Peter Bunting of the People's National Party, attended a meeting in the office of the superintendent of police in Manchester yesterday afternoon and promised to hold a peaceful campaign. They emerged from the meeting and shook hands.
