Only winning the Serie A won't do for Inter Milan this season. The Italian champions want the European Cup as well.
"Last year we won the scudetto. This year we hope to win the Champions League," Inter striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic said.
Inter won its 15th Serie A title last season, clinching with five games remaining. The club was less successful in the Champions League, where it was eliminated in the second round by Valencia.
Inter midfielder Dejan Stankovic thinks the Nerazzurri are good enough to win both this year - as long as his teammates believe it.
"Each one of us can and must feel strong and realise that we are playing in one of the strongest teams in Europe, which has the quality, the mentality and the physical strength to play and win on every field," Stankovic said.
Inter is favoured for a club record third-straight league title, after retaining the majority of its 2006-07 squad.
The team fended off a reported inquiry by Bayern Munich for centre back Marco Materazzi; veteran winger Luis Figo postponed retirement until next year; and midfielder Patrick Vieira has recovered from a serious knee injury.
The Nerazzurri also have a good chance of lifting the European Cup for the first time since 1965 after signing Romania defender Cristian Chivu from AS Roma and Honduras striker David Suazo from Cagliari.
Chivu replaces Italy left back Fabio Grosso, who was offloaded to Lyon after a disappointing season. The Romanian, who was also wanted by FC Barcelona, is coveted for his versatility and is also able to play in central defence and midfield.
Suazo is one of the quickest players in Italy and will vie with Hernan Crespo, Adriano, Julio Ricardo Cruz and Alvaro Recoba for a spot alongside Ibrahimovic in the starting line-up.
