Female judge robbed at home

The St. Andrew Central Police are investigating a robbery which occurred at the home of a female judge early Wednesday morning.

According to police reports, shortly after 3:00 a.m., thieves armed with knives pried open the lock to the grille of the judge's residence in Hope Pastures, entered the house and held up her 15-year-old son and proceeded to steal cash and other items.

It was understood by officers that while this was taking place, the judge was actually at home but asleep.

However, she was subsequently awakened by her son after the thieves left.

THE STAR learned that the judge and her son were further distressed when they called the Papine Police Station and were told that the police could not assist them because there were no vehicles available.

Sources close to the investigations reported that the judge identified herself while making four telephone calls to the police station.

This has stirred up concern among senior members of the Police High Command who have demanded an immediate investigation into the matter.
