NBL to restart

The much anticipated Jam-aica Basketball Association (JBA) National Basketball League (NBL) second-half is finally expected to tip off tonight.

The first games of season's second-half will see the Link-Up All-Stars taking on the Denham Town Wizards at 6:00 p.m. and the Tivoli Gardens All-Stars taking on the defending champions, St. George's Slayers at 7:45 p.m.

With the mid-season final concluding in early September, the league was expected to resume last week, but problems with the availability of the National Stadium saw games postponed on three occasions.

Having romped to an impressive 10-1 record, all eyes will be on catching the defending champion Slayers, who will themselves be looking to rebound from a narrow loss to their rivals, Urban Knights, in the mid-season final.

Narrowly missing out on a spot in that event, the third place Wizards will be hoping to build on the excellence they achieved in the first-half of the season. Former champions, Tivoli Gardens, currently in 5th place will be eyeing a move up the tables, but could have a tough time starting off against a 10th placed Link-Up All-Star team, which will definitely be looking to better the start they had to the season.
