Two shot and injured

Two men were shot and injured in separate incidents in the Kingston western division on Tuesday night. Both victims have been admitted to hospital.

According to police reports, a 34-year-old cable contractor of Brentford Road was shot and injured about 9:35 p.m. at the corner of Lyndhurst Road and Studio One Boulevard. The victim was walking along the roadway when a silver Mitsubishi with two men aboard drove up beside him. The passenger opened fire, hitting him in both thighs and in the back. He was taken to the Kingston Public Hospital where he was admitted in serious condition.

The gunmen then reportedly proceeded to the Calvary Cemetery where they opened fire at a group of persons along Lower Ivy Road.

A few hours later, at 11:30 p.m., another man was shot and injured near Beeston and Oxford streets. The injured man is an unemployed 19-year-old. Reports are that he was standing along the road when he heard explosions. He later realised that he had been shot in the left leg and two of his fingers. He was taken to the Kingston Public Hospital where he was admitted in stable condition.
