THE EDITOR, Sir:
I have been an avid reader of the Star as the stories published have always captivated me.
However, to some extent, you are beginning to resemble some of the x-rated magazines with the pictures of poster girls, published on Mondays.
They have become very distasteful, as the girls are dressed in very revealing 'outfits', especially the one in the picture published on Monday, September 10. It is very sad that THE STAR has to resort to this method to help boost sales, as they already have a well-established fan base, which includes readers of all age groups.
This just emphasises the point that we live in a society today in which women are no longer afraid to reveal their bodies as they are often proud to do so. Who am I to judge an individual, much less to tell her to wear, but it is sad that women's bodies are no longer considered sacred, as nobody is afraid to show off to the public their assets.
I am, therefore, asking the editor to please look into the situation. I would like to see an improvement in these girls' wardrobe.
I think it is time to have a little respect for the elderly and younger ones.
Your bodies are the temple of the Lord and so you do not need to be selling your bodies.
I am etc.,
