Spanish Town:
The relatives of three men who died in a well at a Jamaica Public Service Company Old Harbour Bay plant more than two years ago, will have to wait until January 24 next year for the inquest into their death to start.
Owen Townsend, Woodford Brown and Arthur Williams were part of a group of men who went into the well to clean it when they met into difficulty and died before any help could reach them.
When the case came up in the St. Catherine Coroner Court, Coroner Simone Maddix put off the hearing as only one witness turned up and she decided that the inquest will be conducted next year.
About 10 a.m. on September 15, 2005, Brown, Townsend and Williams were assigned to clean an area that leads water from the plant. They got into difficulty and died. At least two other persons were injured in the incident.
Since their death relatives have expressed concern that nothing seems to be happening for those who they left behind and that the men are sadly missed.
