ALL of Montego Bay is expected out in its glory at Jarrett Park tomorrow evening when Cash Plus Premier League leaders, Seba United, host champions and second-place Harbour View in the most anticipated clash of the new season.
Seba, who finished last season in 10th place, hovering above relegation zone, ticked off their third straight win on Sunday, beating August Town 3-1 at the UWI Bowl.
The Montegonians have scored eight goals in three games to be on 13 points, one ahead of Harbour View, who on Sunday, for their second straight home game, had to rally from two goals down.
Unlike the previous week when they drew 2-2 with promoted Sporting Central, the champions pulled a 3-2 win out of the hat against nine-man Waterhouse.
Coach Lenny Hyde yesterday said such heart-stoppers must end now especially against high-scoring Seba at Jarrett Park with both teams eyeing the first round final, which is five games away.
"We can't afford to do that anymore," he said. "We have to try and deal with the discipline at the back of the field."
The champions will be without four regulars as central defender Christopher Harvey, who netted the 2-2 equaliser from the penalty spot against Waterhouse, is out with an injury. Palmer will be joined in the stands by captain Lovel Palmer as well as the suspended duo of Kavin Bryan and Richard Edwards.
However, the Harbour View coach pointed to the likes of Oneil Smith stepping in for Harvey, Kemeel Taylor filling midfield for Edwards and Greg Taylor upfront for Bryan.
"That's why we have a squad of 25 players, for whenever these situations arrive," he said.
Seba surprise
Seba have taken the league by surprise this season. Coached by former Reggae Boy Theodore Whitmore, Seba served warning by clipping Waterhouse 4-3 in their opening match at Jarrett Park. An own-goal against Tivoli, suffered in a 1-2 home loss, has been their only blemish so far.
An attacking 4-3-3 formation, utilising two wingers a centre-forward and two attacking midfielders has Seba pulling apart defences especially with balls coming in from the flanks.
Centre forward Delroy Ellis has so far netted four goals and is dangerous with his quick sprints inside the penalty area.
The veteran Daniel Ricketts, who orchestrated their 3-1 win on Sunday, is one of the toughest men in the league to strip the ball from and plays just about any attacking position on the field.
Kemar James also looks good on the flanks and Oliver Trail is strong in midfield, making Seba a most dangerous side on any given day.
Main strength
Harbour View have their fair share of stars in striker Fabian and Greg Taylor, midfielder Jermaine Hue and the speedy left back Robert Scarlett.
However, Seba's main strength tomorrow could be their 12th man, an enthusiastic Montego Bay crowd, several of whom travelled to August Town to cheer their team on last Sunday.
Montego Bay has been hungry for a champion side and with Seba in form, Harbour View will have to be at their best to upstage the homesters.
In other games, Portmore United, who moved into third on 11 points after stomping last-place Village United 3-1, are at home against August Town. Boys' Town travel to wounded Waterhouse, holding nine points to their hosts' eight.
Tivoli Gardens, who are also on nine points, face promoted Sporting Central Academy, who are on six. St. Georges, who ambushed Arnett Gardens 2-0 at Lynch Park, are on eight points and will travel to Reno, with hopes of keeping the Westmoreland team at the foot of the standings on three points.
Arnett Gardens, whose pride must still be stinging after Sunday's loss, should make amends at home when they face Village, who slumped to their fifth straight loss, beaten 2-1 at home by Portmore.
