Homosexual text upsets Jamaica

The Gleaner's lead story on Wednesday, made very interesting reading. Disturbing, no doubt, but albeit interesting.

According to the story, a home economics textbook recommended by the Ministry of Education, includes same-sex families as an accepted family type. This is a departure from the traditional nuclear, extended and single-parent families that were originally listed as types of families.

Now, if this is not a clear indication that something is going terribly wrong with the society, then nothing is. It is all well and good for homosexuals to say they have a right to do what they want, but when this lifestyle is presented as an option to innocent students, it is going overboard.

How can it be acceptable for a high school text to promote a lifestyle which is essentially illegal in our country?

It will be interesting to see how parents are going to react to this news. While some people are tolerant of things that are different, not many people will embrace the idea of the homosexual family unit being presented in this matter.
