Staying focused with a 'queen'

Queen Ifrika - File

Stage name: Queen Ifrica

Real name: Ventrice Latora Morgan

Birth date: 25 March 1975

How did you get started in the business?

Well, I started doing music really seriously after meeting Tony Rebel.

What has been your greatest challenge in the business yet?

I don't have a great challenge so far, but I would probably say to get around the obstacle of what the industry is.

What have you been up to lately?

Well, I'm working on my next album which I'm looking forward to release by next March. My current album 'Fyah Mumma' is also doing well.

Do you look up to any specific artiste?

Yes, look up to Tony Rebel not because I'm around him, but because of his musical influence. I also look up to di late Garnet Silk.

Are you happy with the way things are going for your career right now?

Yes, I must say I'm happy because it's always good to have great people around.

Anything you'd like to change about it?

Nothing to change about it.

What are your future plans?

I would like to start a whole lot of community projects, its good to put in place many institutions in order to help young people.

Do you have any advice for young artistes coming up?

First identify what it is you want from the music, stay focus, be patient and do good music.
