We are all familiar with the complaints of gaymen about the prejudice they face, including violence. (It does not seem to be the same for women, at least not to the same intensity. That may just have something to do with the fact that the threesome is a man's thing. Somehow the thought of two tough back man getting it on while they watch does not get women going as much as it does when the situation is reversed.)

However, what is not spoken about is the prejudice that many a gayman exhibit towards women. It is not all gaymen, mind you, because as far as Jackass can see among you two-footers there are two kinds - the 'girly' gayman who is all ready to attend that meeting in the ladies' room and the 'surly' gayman who really despises women.

'Surly' gaymen

Ironically, from what Jackass has observed from his straight-like-six-o'clock side of the borderline, it is the 'surly' gayman who tends to get married as a cover-up, although you can always spot them by the way they don't look women in the eye. Hell, sometimes they don't even seem to see them.

Anyway, it is prejudice, not an ID parade that is the point here.

Although this is a Jackass column, allow this beast to introduce another into the argument.

Dog nyam the supper of a woman who has a surly gayman as the boss she answers to. She will sit there for years and not get the promotion as she deserves, while all sorts of little girly boys come in and work their way from the bottom up.

And when it comes on to things related to her child, if she has any, there is absolutely no allowance. No effort to allow her to leave early to read to the little one before he or she goes to bed, no raise to factor in a little nanny or nursery cost.

Pure grumpiness

And is pure grumpiness when maternity leave comes up. How dare she go and breed anyway.

But it is a matter of the world being doubly unlevel, because not only are the surly gays biased against women, but many times it is the women who say 'leave him alone' when some serious man (although many are gay under quiet, Jackass believes) are burning straight fire.

What must make it especially bad is that the women cannot do anything about the situation. There is no official declaration of the 'surly gay standard' in the office. Although all know what is happening, there can be no attempt to enforce a 'non-gayman equal opportunity programme'.
