Baby napping gone mad

The lead story in Saturday's STAR was indeed very sad.

According to the story, which by the way, follows closely on the heels of a similar one, a 2-year-old child was stolen from its father, reportedly by a 14-year-old girl. Now, the first question that comes to mind in this situation is what is this 14-year-old, who is a child herself, planning to do with a baby? The very thought of having their child in the custody of a 14-year-old, must be very hard for the parents of this infant, as only God knows what their child is going through.

The fact that two babies have been reported stolen in the space of a couple weeks, is terrifying and is sending a clear message that parents need to be very vigilant when it comes to their children. The best motto to live by is 'trust no one' and though that might seem harsh, it is, perhaps, the only way to ensure that your child remains safe.

The circumstances surrounding this particular kidnapping are indeed strange as according to the reports the father of the child handed the baby to a 14-year-old girl who said she wanted to take the child downtown. Now, while this decision might seem a bit strange, we do not know what prompted him to take such action, so we cannot judge.

What we can say, however, is that persons need to be very careful when it comes to their children as it seems that in today's sick world, no one is safe.
