Another very lucky performer has earned himself a place on the stage of Guinness Sting 2007. Trevor Smith, otherwise known as Fire Flame, hit the Guinness road show in his hometown of Yallahs,
St. Thomas, on Friday, with only one thing in mind, to claim a place on Sting.
He, along with Dwight 'Rumhead' Parline, the first Muss Buss winner, will show off their talents when the world's greatest one night dancehall show drops on Boxing Day, December 26th.
New feature of Sting
This competition is a new feature of Guinness Sting which
provides an avenue for new talent to be discovered and given an opportunity to perform on the Guinness Sting stage. The competition in St. Thomas attracted several aspiring artistes but when Fire Flame hit the stage it was all over. He showed true showmanship as he commanded the attention of the rocking audience. He deejayed original lyrics and dove into the crowd to be closer to his fans.
"This is a great experience for me, I came here prepared to be the winner, I am very happy, words can't explain," Fire Flame said.
"I just have to say thanks to Guinness Sting for the opportunity to make people see my talent. I had a plan and I just stick to that," he said.
Promising big tings
According to Fire Flame he has been involved in the industry for a number of years and has done several small shows all around. He is promising a great performance for Sting.
"Me really looking forward to Guinness Sting, is a big show and everybody will be there. I going to have some new tunes, some girl tunes, I plan to bomb it," Fire Flame said.
"I want people to remember me when they leave Guinness Sting. This can do a lot for my career so I have to make it really good," he said.
Fire Flame had to beat the competition to get the coveted prize. All the entrants delivered entertaining, amateur performances at the road show and added much excitement to the event. Their performances were a welcomed addition and were combined with juggling by Brite Lite and Bloodline.
The event ended with performances by Shane-O, Turbulence, Etana and I-Octane who topped off the event with some of their well known songs.
The artistes did their fair share to woo the audience but Etana and Turbulence were the most entertaining.
Turbulence showed his versatility as he sang We've Got the Love, recorded with his ex-girlfriend Sasha. He sang Sasha's part perfectly before giving the audience his rendition of Rihanna's Umbrella. The next event on the Guinness Sting calendar is the poster launch at the Asylum Nite Club, this Friday.
