Harbour View remained on top of the Coca-Cola National Under-21 Football League with a 2-0 win over Arnett Gardens at the Tony Spaulding Sports Complex yesterday.
A 48th-minute strike by Andre Fagan and another by Jermaine Fletcher in the 90th saw Harbour View through as they maintained their perfect win record with four wins from as many games.
In other matches, Sporting Central drubbed Seba 3-0, August Town rallied to draw 1-1 with Waterhouse, defending champs Portmore United edged Reno 2-1, Tivoli Gardens also beat St. George's 2-1 and Boys' Town got by Village United 3-0.
flunked chances
At Collie Smith drive Boys' Town had most of the chances early on with midfielders Kemari Campbell and Marvin Jones creating chances. Shamar Small and Dennis Stephenson had good shots at goal but flunked their chances from point blank range.
Marvin Jones would get Boys' Town's first in the 57th after he intercepted a pass by the goalie Preston Smith and scored easily. Small made up for his first half blunder with a brace in the 77th and 88th minutes. He scored from a left-sided cross in the area after a defender miss kicked, then 11 minutes later lobbed the ball over the head of an out-of-position goalie.
"We got lucky with our first goal but it opened up the flood gates from there," said Boys' Town coach Perry Bartley.
Village had their share of goalmouth action but poor finishing got the better of them. Reynaldo Scott had a gift of a chance in the second half in front of goal, but uprooted the grass instead of kicking the ball.
Village coach Kendale Mercury said his team lost shape after conceding the first goal.
