Ken's Wildflower brings home trophy

The honours were shared between rivals Ken's Wildflower and Westchester at the inaugural Portmore Netball Association (PNA) Awards presentation at Ken's Wildflower Sports Bar and Lounge on Sunday, November 25.

Ken's Wildflower walked away with the prestigious Senior League crown, beating Westchester in that final, recently, while, Westchester captured the Open League title beating Ken's.

Westchester, however, have two wins over Ken's this season, the second coming in the preliminary round. Incidentally, Ken's, with the Senior League triumph, ended a dominance by Westchester in Portmore Leagues which goes back a number of years .

One of the sponsors of the presentation ceremony, Senator Arthur Williams, lauded the efforts of the association that started the league, and said that he viewed sports as having an integral role in the development of any community.

Mr. Williams' political colleague, Keith Hinds, who is the mayoral candidate for Portmore, was also in attendance and assisted in the presentation of trophies. Meanwhile, Mega Angels were presented with the Junior League title, with a proud Kerry-Ann Fullwood going up to accept on her team's behalf.

The organisers of the competition promised a better league come next year.
