MEADOWVALE stayed on course for top honours in the Jamaica Skittles Federation Pattex Cup last Sunday when they clipped the star-studded Eastern All-Stars team 6-5 in an away match at 111 Windward Road.
Both teams were locked at 5-5 going into the 11th and final game, but Meadowvale gained the ascendancy through their captain, Richard Mohammed, and Robert Henry, both of whom teamed up to win the doubles game against former singles champions Keith Barrett and D. Murphy.
As a result of this win, Meadowvale are third in the standings with 78 points and still in with a shot of making it to the final.
Meanwhile, leaders Dragon All-Stars returned to winning ways after whipping the other Portmore-based team, The Dip 11-0 at Giltress Street, Rollington Town.

To begin with, The Dip virtually forfeited the match when turning up at the venue with only five of their 11 players. They lost the three singles and three doubles match to give Dragon a 6-0 lead and had no more players to carry on, hence 11-0.
Dragon have extended their lead at the top of the standings to 110 — 22 clear of closest rivals and Wray & Nephew league champions Rowe's Strikers.
Rowe's Strikers, playing at home (Chelsea Jerk Centre), drubbed Mystix 8-3, while defending champions Cherry's Strikers moved into fourth place on 76 points after a 6-5 victory over bottom-placed House of Peace in an away match.
Giant killers Waltham United, playing at home, handed Olympic Strikers their sixth defeat, beating them 7-4 to be on 64 points. The competition continues tomorrow with all matches starting at 2:00 p.m.
Meanwhile, the Mystix 8-ball double elimination Pool tournament is scheduled for Saturday, December 15 and Sunday, December 16 at Mystix Sports Bar, 78 3/4 Hagley Park Road starting at 5:00 p.m. on both days.
