Humble Lion, Monymusk clash

Dwight Nelson, Star Writer

Humble Lions FC and Monymusk will meet tomorrow at Jamalco Sports Club in the final of the Clarendon Football Association/ Trevor Dunkley-sponsored knockout competition at 3 p.m.

Both teams emerged from very bruising semi-final contests at the York Town Community Centre last Thursday and Friday, respectively. Humble Lions came from two goals down to beat Gayle FC 3-2.

Gayle's Mikeno Thomas scored in the first minute before Humble Lion could settle down. This seemed to unsettle the 'Lions', who fell further behind when Davin McKoy scored a 30-yard scorcher to go into the break 2-0 up. Humble Lions had also missed a penalty just before the break.

Humble Lions came back in the second half when goals by Kevin Mighty in the 48th and Errol Reid with a brace in the 73rd and 80th minutes earned them a 3-2 victory.

Monymusk, with goals from Andre Isaacs in the 19th, Damion Thomas (53rd) and Dwayne Taylor (68th), also had to come from behind to beat Morgan's Pass FC. Dwayne Ballintine opened the scoring for Morgan's Pass in the ninth minute.
