Portsmouth FC win on home turf

Portsmouth F.C. are taking full advantage of their home turf as they carved out their second win in as many matches in the WIHCON-sponsored Portmore Division Two Football League at Portsmouth playing field last Sunday, clipping a youthful Hellshire United 2-1.

Portsmouth won the previous Sunday, after they edged Braeton Newtown 3-2 in an exciting affair on the same playing field.

Meanwhile, in the opening game at the venue, Caymanas Gardens Site D, surprisingly, held double champions Christian Pen 1-1.

Pete Spence opened the scoring for Christian Pen, before Robert Thompson netted the equaliser from the penalty spot late in the game.

In other games, Greater Portmore drubbed Caymanas Gardens 4-0, Daytona F.C. nipped Braeton United 1-0, and Braeton Newtown drew 1-1 with Racing United.

Games on: Double header at Portsmouth playing field; Braeton United v.s. Racing United 1:30 p.m., Portsmouth F.C. v.s. Christian Pen F.C.; Double header at Hellshire playing field; Caymanas Gardens v.s. Watson Grove 1:30 p.m.; Hellshire United v.s.
