A 23-year-old farmer was on Monday sentenced to 15 years in prison in the St. Elizabeth Circuit Court for chopping a man to death in July 2006.
Fitzroy Salmon of Knoxwood district, Burnt Savannah, was convicted of the murder of 26-year-old Nordam Reeves, also from Knoxwood district.
The CCN's liaison officer for St. Elizabeth had earlier reported that at 9:10 a.m. on July 9, 2006, Salmon and his brother were involved in a dispute with Reeves. During the argument, knives were drawn and all three men were wounded.
Reeves reportedly ran into a nearby house to seek refuge but was chased and chopped several times by Salmon. He died on the spot.
