The disciplinary committee of the Kingston and St. Andrew Football Association (KSAFA) has suspended Elletson Flats Football Club from all KSAFA competitions until the end of the season.

In a release yesterday, KSAFA, through its president, Ambassador Stewart Stephenson, said the decision was handed down at a meeting held on Tuesday.

The club has also been fined $25,000. In addition it must reimburse all medical expenses incurred by referee Shane Harrison during the course of his treatment as a result of a recent attack against him at a KSAFA Super League between home team Elletson Flats and Constant Spring at the UWI Bowl. The referee was struck on the left side of his face by an object which was thrown on to the playing area. He received cuts to his left cheek and lips.

Following is the full release from KSAFA: The Disciplinary Committee of the Kingston & St. Andrew Football Association (KSAFA) at its meeting on Tuesday, December 18, handed down the following decisions regarding the Elletson Flats Football Club arising out of an incident during their Super League game at the UWI Playing Field on Saturday, December 8:

1) Elletson Flats Football Club is suspended from all KSAFA-run competitions for the remainder of the 2007/08 football season.

2) Thereafter, whenever the club satisfies the conditions outlined in the criteria document of the KSAFA Rules & Regulations and become eligible to participate in KSAFA-run competitions, their senior team will be readmitted to the Major League.

3) Elletson Flats Football Club shall reimburse all medical expenses incurred by referee Shane Harrison during the course of his treatment.

4) Elletson Flats Football Club shall pay a fine of twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000) for breaching KSAFA's security rules and guidelines.

5) Whenever the club resumes participation in KSAFA-run competitions, their selected home ground will be placed on one year's probation.
