Market Street in St Thomas was the scene of a double murder, while three men were shot, one fatally in St. Catherine on Sunday night.
Dead are Ian Johnson, 24, otherwise called 'Blacka', and 39-year-old Derrick McFarlane, both of Yallahs.
Police reports are that at 11:13 p.m. on Sunday, both men were on Market Street when they were approached by a group of men armed with guns. The gunmen immediately opened fire hitting them several times, killing them on the spot.
The police were called, the crime scene processed and the bodies removed to the morgue for post-mortem. The Yallahs police are investigating.
The Spanish Town CIB is investigating the murder of a man in the parish after a man was shot dead and two others injured by gunmen at Federal Road, Sydenham, St. Catherine on Sunday night.
Dead is 69-year-old Alanzo Johnson of South Topez Crescent, Brampton, Canada, while injured are two men, 73 and 69, both of St. Catherine addresses.
Police reports are that at 10:05 p.m., the three men were among a group of person playing cards at a house at Federal Road. While at the location, a group of gunmen entered the premises and opened fire hitting the three. The police were summoned and the injured men taken to hospital where Johnson was pronounced dead and the other men admitted in stable condition.
