Bodles continue impressive run in South Central Confed

Newcomers Bodles of St. Catherine continued their impressive start to the Super Plus-sponsored South Central Confed Super League on the weekend when Christopher Cummings scored in the second half to give them a 1-0 win over Original Hazard of Clarendon.

It was Bodles' third win in as many matches and even with two rescheduled games to go in round one, they comfortably lead Zone B with a two-point advantage. They could further use their Confed form to a glorious advantage on Thursday if they can get the better of Cash Plus Premier League team Portmore United in the St. Catherine Knockout final.

Second place in Zone B is jointly held by Humble Lions and Hill Stars of Manchester. Humble Lions, with the edge at this stage on goal difference, had defeated Arlington 2-1 at the weekend to settle on seven points. It was another sad weekend for the Premier League dropouts Arlington who crashed to their fourth defeat and are the only team yet to gain a point.

Meanwhile, Jamali Powell scored in the 55th minute to provide Hill Stars with a 1-0 away win over Tafari Lions at Lacovia. The latest win has provided the Manchester champions with their best start to a Confed campaign, a contrast with their more illustrious parish mates Los Perfectos who have only mined a single point, albeit from only two matches. They will play one of their three rescheduled games tomorrow at Rio Cobre Oval against Revoli. Revoli could lose some precious points for failing to turn up for their scheduled parish derby against Naggo Head last Saturday.

Morgan's Pass, another of the newcomers, used the occasion to register a 2-1 win over Holland PYC and join Revoli on six points. Naggo Head are the clear leaders in Zone A with nine points.
