Big guns bow into Bell KO

by Ainsley Walters, Star Writer

PREMIER LEAGUE teams start their KSAFA Jackie Bell knockout quests this afternoon with one match, Barbican hosting Boys' Town, before Waterhouse, Harbour View, Arnett Gardens, August Town and Tivoli Gardens bow into action, all on the road, tomorrow.

Boys' Town travel to Major League eighth-place team Barbican high with confidence after Sunday's 1-0 Premiership win over St Georges and are expected to blow by the minnows ahead of Thursday's rescheduled Premier League game at Seba.

The Red Brigade have been drawing games like crazy in the Premiership, all of 11 from 21 outings, but should still outclass Barbican, who are struggling two leagues below top-tier football.

Shooting practise

Oneil 'Chippy' McDonald and Michael Campbell should get shooting practise at Barbican ahead of taking on Seba in the Premiership with hopes of moving from sixth to fifth place.

Tomorrow, defending Premier League champions Harbour View, resurgent Arnett Gardens and league leaders Tivoli Gardens, will also play Major League rivals.

Harbour View are at Olympic Gardens, Arnett travel to Stadium East to face Swallowfield and Tivoli Gardens at Breezy Castle, opposing Rae Town, who are third in the Major League standings behind Liguanea and Real Mona.

Despite being two leagues lower than their more heralded rivals, higher-placed teams such as Rae Town, will be gunning for upsets and cannot be written off, especially at home.

Waterhouse face tougher rivals in Super League fourth-place side Santos at the Bell-Chung Oval whereas August Town tackle Cavalier at Constant Spring.

In other games, Major League fourth-place Seaview host Super league second-place Bull Bay, while third-place JDF face struggling Duhaney Park at Up Park Camp.
