St. Hugh's High School advanced to the second round of TVJ's Schools' Challenge Quiz competition by emerging 26-7 victors in their match against St. Mary's College.
From the get go, the girls from the Corporate Area-based High School looked the better team against their St. Catherine-based opponents.
At the end of section two, St. Hugh's managed to amass a lead by going up 22-13, with the exciting "ding dong" buzzer section still to come.
That section however was lacking in buzzer activity as the combined number of buzzes between both teams was only six.
Of the six questions, St. Mary's College was responsible for four, three of which they answered incorrectly, thus decreasing their end of section two tally to a final score of seven points.
St. Hugh's on the other hand seemed to wish to play it safe and ensure the win. They answered the two questions correctly to which they had buzzed in, gaining an additional four points to the already gained 22, bringing the final score line to one which told the tale of the match.
After the match, St.Hugh's said they will be somewhat pleased with the win, but will be looking and working towards bettering their performance.
